CLERK'S CORNER
Jane Capo, Clerk of Session
Welcome home, Rev. Ellie! -  Rev. Ellie and Bruce have returned from their Holy Land trip exhausted but inspired.   How thankful we are for their safe journey and blessed time of “walking where Jesus walked.”   And speaking of walking…

Feet for Food – The Mission Team reports that $12,266 was raised for the Ecumenical Food Pantry during the Feet for Food Walk in March.   Praise God for the generosity of those who gave and the stamina of those who walked!

Upcoming Youth Activities -   Rob Nelson, our new Youth Leader, plans to take our youth on a camping trip to Itchetucknee Family Campground with other Presbytery churches the weekend of June 6-8 for a time of worship, fellowship, and fun on the river.

Worship Attendance – March attendance averaged 196 persons, with Communion served to 142 worshipers on April 6th.   We were deeply blessed by the leadership of Rev. Mindy Serafin, Dr. Rafael Sanchez, and Commissioned Lay Pastor Monia Yust during Rev. Ellie’s absence.  The Worship Team requests
particular prayer for the music ministry of the church, as we continue to seek a
new music director/organist.

Thrift Shop - It won’t be long now!  We are anxiously waiting for FPL to “turn on the lights” so that the Thrift Shop can open its doors to the public as “Friendship Crossroads Thrift Shop.”  The Administration Team also reports the purchase of a new water heater and planned installation of a hand-rail for the newly paved front sidewalk.

April Membership Report – showed totals of 219 Active Members, 10 Affiliate Members, and 20 Inactive members.  On 4/20/08, three persons were received into Active Membership by the Session, which will be reflected in next month’s Membership Report.  Our newest members are Wilma Kaelin, Robert Nelson, and Joan Wells.  We are blessed to have them in our midst, and all three will be introduced to the congregation on April 27, 2008.

Teen Challenge Sunday – Has been changed from May 4th to Sunday, May 18th, so mark your calendars!  It is always a joy to see these young men growing into the call God has placed on their lives.
