Ellie
Dear Church Family,
By the time you receive this
Presbyterian Post
, Bruce and I will be on a dream trip to the Holy Land. Discounting travel time from here to there, we will spend about two weeks in Israel and Jordan. What a thrill it is to know we will soon walk the same roads where Jesus walked!
For months we’ve been studying the history of the area, using maps to locate areas, sites, battles and movement of forces who fought there to gain, maintain or regain control of the land.
One writer appropriately dubbed this area “The Land Between.” It has been highly prized by the superpowers of history because trade routes to the east, west, north and south all pass through the land. The one who controlled the routes through ‘Land Between’ controlled the world’s commerce and wealth. Its history is a history of struggle between the powers of every time, even up to our own day.
In our absence you will welcome three wonderful pastors to lead you in worship. I am thankful for the inspired ministries of the Rev. Mindy Serafin, the Rev. Dr. Rafael Sanchez, and the Rev. Monia Yust.
And you will say farewell to our Music Director and Organist Cleusa Siemens, her daughters Cynthia and Marla, and to her mother, Cleide Benjamim. We are grateful for the beautiful music they have given here in service to Christ our Lord. We wish Cleusa well in her new position at the Episcopal Church in Palm Bay. They go with our love and blessings.
In Christ's love,
Ellie
NOTE -
The Rev. Mindy Serafin will be available for Pastoral Care should the need arise during the Pastor's absence.. She can be reached through the church office. All other concerns will be handled by the Session.
